How Five Lakes Studio LLC handles information across our website and apps.
Effective November 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Five Lakes Studio LLC, a Michigan limited liability company ("Five Lakes Studio," "we," or "us"), handles information when you visit www.fivelakesstudio.com (the "Website") or use one of our apps (each an "App"). It replaces our earlier policy dated November 2, 2026.
Some Apps have their own section below. Where an App has its own section, that section describes what the App does with your information and controls over the general sections if they differ. Each App's privacy details on the App Store also describe what it collects.
App sections: Glucose View Insights, Nonogram HD
We try to collect only the information we need, use it only to provide and support our products, and do not sell personal information.
a. Browsing. You don't need to give us personal information to browse the Website.
b. Analytics. We use website analytics from third parties such as Cloudflare to understand how the Website is used in aggregate, for example which pages are visited, how visitors arrived, and general browser, device, and country information. We use this only to run and improve the Website, not to identify you or to advertise to you.
c. Delivery and security. The services that deliver the Website, including Cloudflare and Google Fonts, process standard technical information such as your IP address and browser type to load and protect the site. Cloudflare may set cookies that are strictly necessary for security, such as bot detection.
d. Cookies. We don't use advertising cookies or cookies that track you across other websites.
The third parties named in this section handle information under their own privacy policies.
If you email us for support or with feedback, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it to respond to you and to improve our products. We don't add you to a mailing list or share your message for marketing.
a. Permissions. Some Apps ask for permission to use device features, such as your location or Apple Health, to provide their features. You choose whether to allow each one and can change your choice at any time in your device's Settings.
b. Information from Apple. When you download or buy an App from the App Store, Apple handles the transaction. Apple does not give us your Apple ID, name, or payment information. Apple may provide us with aggregated statistics about App Store activity, and with crash reports and diagnostics if you've chosen to share them with app developers in your device settings. These don't identify you to us.
c. Services an App relies on. If an App sends information to an outside service to work, the App's section or its App Store privacy details will say so.
Glucose View Insights shows blood glucose readings from Apple Health. It appears as Glucose View on your Home Screen, and this section uses that shorter name. It is built so that your health data stays on your iPhone.
a. What it reads. With your permission, Glucose View reads Blood Glucose samples from Apple Health: each reading's value, the time it was recorded, and the name of the app or device that saved it. It asks for no other Health data and never writes to or changes anything in Apple Health.
b. How it's used. Readings are used only to show your history, charts, and statistics inside the app on your iPhone.
c. Where it's stored. Glucose View keeps a copy of your readings in its own storage on your iPhone so screens load quickly. That copy is excluded from iCloud and computer backups and can always be rebuilt from Apple Health. Your settings, such as target ranges and appearance, are also stored on your iPhone and may be included in your device backups. Settings don't contain glucose readings.
d. What we receive. Nothing. Glucose View has no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking, and it doesn't send your readings or settings over the network. Five Lakes Studio never receives your health data.
e. Sharing. Glucose View doesn't share, sell, or disclose your health data to anyone. Health data is never used for advertising, marketing, or data mining, and is never stored in iCloud by Glucose View.
f. Retention. Because your readings exist only on your iPhone, Five Lakes Studio retains none of them. Glucose View keeps its copy until you delete the app or use Re-import from Apple Health in Settings. When you delete a reading in Apple Health, Glucose View removes it from its copy the next time it syncs.
g. Your choices. You can turn off Glucose View's access at any time in the Health app or in Settings, under Privacy & Security, then Health. Deleting the app removes its copy of your readings and its settings from your iPhone. Your readings in Apple Health aren't affected. Because we never receive your data, we can't access, recover, or delete it for you.
h. Apple Health. Apple Health manages its own data, including any iCloud syncing you've turned on in Health. That is covered by Apple's privacy policy, not this one.
i. Not medical advice. Glucose View is for informational purposes only and is not a medical device. Five Lakes Studio is not a healthcare provider.
Nonogram HD: Picture Puzzles (formerly Picross HD) is a picture logic puzzle game. It appears as Nonogram HD on your Home Screen. It sends a limited amount of information to a game server operated by Five Lakes Studio so that puzzle ratings work and so we can understand and support in-app purchases. Starting with version 6.0, if you're 16 or older, it also sends the puzzles you create, so we can consider them for future puzzle packs.
a. Puzzle ratings. When you rate a puzzle, the app sends your star rating with a random identifier the app creates on your device. This identifier isn't your name or Apple ID. It's stored in your device's keychain so that your ratings can stay with you if you reinstall the app. We use ratings to show each puzzle's average rating to all players and to let you see and change your own ratings.
b. Game Center. If you're signed in to Game Center, the app also sends your Game Center player identifiers, nickname, and display name. We use these to link your ratings, purchases, and puzzles to your account across your devices. If Game Center marks the account as belonging to a child, the app doesn't send any Game Center details. You can play without signing in to Game Center.
c. Purchases. When you buy or restore a puzzle pack, or when Apple tells the app about a purchase made another way (such as an offer code, Family Sharing, a purchase on another device, or a refund), the app sends details of that transaction, such as the product, transaction identifiers and dates, the price paid and currency, the App Store country, and how the pack was acquired. It also sends an identifier Apple assigns to your Apple Account for this app, which doesn't reveal your Apple ID or email address, and a record of each Restore Purchases attempt and its result. We use this to understand which puzzle packs people buy and restore, and to help you if a purchase goes missing. Apple processes all payments, and we never receive your payment details. Only Apple grants or removes access to purchases. Our server never does.
d. Puzzles you create. Starting with version 6.0, if you're 16 or older, the app sends the puzzles you make in the puzzle editor that have a single solution, such as the drawing, its size, the name you give it, and an identifier for the puzzle, along with the random identifier described above and, if you're signed in, your Game Center details. When you change a puzzle, the app sends the new version. To check your age, the app asks Apple for your age range the first time you create a puzzle. If you choose not to share it, or the app can't tell, nothing is sent. Five Lakes Studio reviews these puzzles and may include them in future puzzle packs, as described in the notice you accept before creating puzzles. If we remove one of your puzzles from our servers, it stays on your device.
e. Device information. With these requests the app sends your device model, iOS version, and app version, and our server receives standard technical information such as your IP address. Requests reach our server through Cloudflare, which processes this traffic on our behalf to deliver it and protect our server from abuse, under its own privacy policy.
f. What it doesn't do. Nonogram HD has no advertising and no third-party analytics. It doesn't track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we don't sell or share this information.
g. Retention and your choices. We keep this information while it's needed to provide ratings and purchase support. If you're signed in to Game Center, Nonogram HD creates an account for you on our server, linked to your Game Center ID. Otherwise your data is linked to the random identifier described above. Starting with version 6.0, you can delete your data at any time with Delete My Data in Nonogram HD's Settings. This deletes your account and the data linked to it from our servers, including for any other Five Lakes Studio games you play with the same account. Puzzles you've created stay with Five Lakes Studio, as described in the notice you accepted. Your Apple Account, Game Center, and purchases aren't affected. If you keep playing, a new account may be created.
If you use an earlier version, or can't use Delete My Data, contact us at the address below. If you didn't use Game Center, we may not be able to find your data.
After a deletion, we keep a minimal record that it happened and the information needed to keep a ban in place. Deleted data may remain in our backups until they're replaced.
Our Website and Apps are meant for a general audience. Except as described in this section, we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Nonogram HD doesn't send Game Center details for accounts that Game Center marks as belonging to a child, and it doesn't send puzzles from players under 16. For all players, it sends the random identifier and the rating, purchase, and device information described in section 6, which we use only to run and support the app. If you believe a child has sent us other personal information, such as by email, contact us and we'll delete it. If we learn that a puzzle came from a child, we delete that player's puzzles.
We take reasonable steps to protect the limited information we receive, such as support emails and the game data described in the Nonogram HD section. Information stored on your device is protected by your device's own security, including your passcode.
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, such as support emails or Nonogram HD ratings and purchase records, and ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us at the address below. Information that exists only on your device is under your control, and we can't access it. In Nonogram HD you can also delete your data yourself, as described in section 6g.
Five Lakes Studio LLC is responsible (the "controller") for the personal information described in this policy. We use it on these legal bases: to provide the features you use, such as ratings, purchase support, and Delete My Data (to perform our agreement with you); to run, secure, and improve our Website and Apps, prevent abuse, and keep bans in place (our legitimate interests); and to receive the puzzles you create under the notice you accept (your agreement to that notice). Where the law requires us to keep information, such as for tax or accounting, we keep it for that purpose.
You have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw your agreement at any time, for example by using Delete My Data. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. To use these rights, contact us at the address below.
We're based in the United States, and your information is stored and processed there.
Our Website and Apps rely on services operated by others, including Apple, Cloudflare, and Google. Those companies handle information under their own privacy policies, and we aren't responsible for their practices. Links to other websites are provided for convenience and are governed by those sites' policies.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including as our Website and Apps change. When we do, we'll post the updated policy on this page and change the effective date above. If an App update changes what that App collects or how it uses information, we'll update the App's section and its App Store privacy details no later than when the update is released. We won't use information we've already received in a materially different way without your consent where the law requires it. Continuing to use the Website or an App after an update takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
